What Is a fractional executive officer?
A fractional executive officer (CXO) is a seasoned business professional providing expertise to a business or nonprofit on a fractional or part-time basis.
A solid fractional executive has deep expertise and leadership skills from working as a C-suite executive (CEO, CFO, CMO, CSO, etc.) in multiple companies over a long period of time.
In smaller companies, startups and nonprofits, the need for the fractional executive often entails wearing multiple C-suite hats simultaneously, supporting the owners or board of directors with leadership, finance, strategy and marketing expertise in one CXO.
Fractional executives dedicate only a portion of their time to your company, typically, working 10-20 hours per week. Usually engaged for a specific task or problem to be solved over a shorter period of time (3 to 12 months), although if the fit is good for all parties, some engagements last longer.
